The Best Dessert Bar in Charleston

When I first visited Charleston, my boyfriend and I stumbled upon Carmella’s Dessert Bar. I was on the hunt for an espresso martini, and I ended up finding one of my favorite dessert bars in the city. I’ve only been to Charleston a handful of times, but I’ve enjoyed it every single time. They have some of the best bars, dessert spots, shopping—you name it. The city just has everything.

I love the atmosphere at Carmilla’s, especially at night. It’s absolutely adorable inside. They have coffee, tea drinks, desserts, and ice cream. I had never tried an espresso martini before, and I decided to give it a shot. My boyfriend and I also ordered the carrot cake to share, and it was absolutely delicious.

They really have some of the best shareable desserts. As for the espresso martini, I realized I didn’t love it—not because they made it wrong, but simply because I just don’t like alcohol. Still, I’m glad I tried it!

Overall, this is definitely one of my favorite places to come. It’s so cute, always has a great vibe, and it’s the perfect spot to bring friends because there are so many options to share.
